Gynecomastia is a global epidemic, and some men go for decades suffering with the issue. What are the variations of the condition, what are the intricacies of gynecomastia surgery? How does it help people get their lives back? On this episode, Dr. Joseph Cruise goes deep on treating gynecomastia, and his aim to help more men overcome it.

There’s a symbiosis between fat and skin. If you don’t get it right you leave a patient with irregularities. -Dr. Joseph Cruise

Three Takeaways

  1. In your 20s, your tight skin holds glandular tissue to your chest. In your 30s and 40s, your skin starts to give way, so existing gynecomastia will start to show.
  2. Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) don’t just work on your breast, they also go into your bloodstream. With surgery, gynecomastia is removed without side effects.
  3. A surgeon has to understand the symbiosis between fat and skin, and get rid of the glandular tissue while still leaving the good stuff behind.

At the start of the show, Dr. Joseph Cruise talked about his background and work in gynecomastia. He also shared why the surgery is so powerful, and instrumental in changing the lives of patients. Next, we talked about whether anti-estrogens are the right solution for the condition. Dr. Cruise also gave a guide for finding a surgeon with the right skills, and knowledge of the anatomy of the area. Towards the end of the show, we discussed the regenerative capabilities of TRT, and why more men will likely end up needing the treatment.

Dr. Cruise also shared on:

  • The aesthetic and emotional concerns of gynecomastia
  • The effects of using AIs and why surgery is the best solution for gynecomastia
  • Why you need a progressive physician and not grey market steroids if you want to do TRT
  • Hypogonadism in young men and their struggle to get treatment
  • How gynecomastia differs from decade to decade as men age

Gynecomastia is the only procedure in surgery that combines intense emotional concerns with aesthetic ones. The surgical procedure that takes care of it has no side-effects, making it a far better solution over Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs). The wrong surgeon will leave you with irregularities. The key is putting yourself in the hands of a surgeon who knows how to get enough tissue out of the capsule, and has the aesthetic skills to rebuild the breast well. If you have the issue, your best bet is finding a surgeon with many of these procedures under their belt.

Why is iron responsible for so many diseases and health problems in men? What habits and factors make it hard for people to attain health and excellent physique? On this episode, Dennis Mangan goes deep on his book Dumping Iron, the dangers of excess body iron, and how to stay in the best shape and health in your 50s.

The person who wants to stay in good health as they get older needs to put forth the effort to do things that are going to help them. - Dennis Mangan

Three Takeaways

  1. Blood donation is the easiest and fastest way for men to get rid of excess iron.
  2. Having good cardiovascular conditioning is an important determinant of health, but it’s incomplete without strength training.
  3. If you want to lose weight in your 50s try intermittent fasting. Have a cup of coffee for breakfast, eat at noon and avoid carbs, especially after 6pm.

At the start of the show Dennis gave us a background of his career, his research in chronic fatigue and how Rogue Health & Fitness got started. We also talked about the current medical industry, and why some doctors are misinformed. In the next portion on the show, Dennis shared his research on iron and the effects it has on men. He went on to share how men can keep iron in check. Towards the end of the show we talked about the benefits of strength training and intermittent fasting.

Dennis also shared insights on:

  • Why men have 4 times the amount of iron women do
  • The importance of working on your body composition
  • How ferritin is used to check your iron
  • Why women need strength training more than men
  • The importance of putting effort into your health and educating yourself

Iron is a very reactive metal, even in the body. Evolution has not optimized us to get exactly the right amount. Men are more susceptible to the dangers of iron, so controlling it is important. Most doctors are not informed enough to intelligently tell people how to reduce iron and improve lifestyle habits. The greatest responsibility for our health lies with us, our willingness to put effort and how much we educate ourselves.

With so many individuals battling depression, there’s a need for drastic action. Why do doctors favor anti-depressants over hormone therapy for treatment? Why is this approach flawed? On this episode, Dr. Mark Gordon and I go deep on interventional endocrinology, physician awareness and the significance of the growth hormone.

We think of testosterone as a reproductive hormone, but it also has a phenomenal effect on the inflammatory system. - Dr. Mark Gordon

Three Takeaways

  1. If someone is on anti-depressants and they are still depressed, something else has to be off.
  2. Most doctors are trained in illness medicine but not in proactive, preemptive wellness medicine.
  3. The majority of physicians who are all about illness medicine have no pharmaceutical reps educating them about TRT.

At the start of the episode, Dr. Gordon gave us a background of his career, and how he ended up taking an interest in interventional endocrinology. He also shared on the differences between wellness and illness medicine, and why so few doctors are trained in the former. He also went deep on using HRT to help people with depression, and why it’s so hard for men to get hormone therapy through health insurance. Towards the end of the show we talked about PTSD and the benefits of the growth hormone.

We also shared on:

  • The connection between the lack of doctor awareness and pharmaceutical companies
  • The Warrior Angel Foundation and why the government isn’t doing enough to help veterans with PTSD and TBIs.
  • Why we need more medical wellness doctors
  • The relationship between homocysteine and the growth hormone

Testosterone deficiency is a common problem for a lot of men under 30. As a result, these individuals aren’t living up to their full potential, or experiencing fulfilling lives. Thanks to TRT, many have solved this problem and improved their quality of life. On this episode we talk to Daniel Kelly and Joshua Bakuhn, two men under 30 who have seen the benefits of TRT in their own lives.

When you’re not actualizing your full potential, you’re not optimal. - Joshua Bakuhn

Three Takeaways

  1. Most doctors don’t know anything about hormone replacement, be prepared to educate yourself.
  2. TRT makes you more driven and confident in general, and that flows through to your social life and dating.
  3. If you’re not producing testosterone in your 20s , it won’t get any better as you age.

At the start of the episode, Daniel and Josh described their lives before TRT,  and how the treatment improved them. They also talked about the importance of educating themselves since most doctors don’t know about TRT. They went on to talk discuss how TRT has changed their dating lives and interactions with the opposite sex. Towards the end of the show we discussed people’s concerns about not being able to have children on TRT.

We also talked about:

  • How widespread testosterone deficiency is for men under 30
  • The importance of getting your blood work done and understanding your symptoms
  • If the quality of life on TRT outweighs the downsides of the treatment
  • What stops most men from going on TRT
  • Why doctors haven’t caught up with TRT research
  • Why it’s better to solve your testosterone deficiency now, and not in your 50s

Once you realize you’re missing out on a great life, the decision to start TRT is an easy one. It sets you up for success because it keeps you motivated, and it gives you the drive to boldly go after your goals. Ultimately the benefit of TRT is achieving optimal health, and the confidence and motivation that carries through to every part of your life - professionally, physically and socially.

What does reality mean to each of us, and what is the true purpose of enlightenment? On this episode, we discuss emotive mind power, consciousness, reality and the differences between ego and false ego. Guest Matt Belair tells us about his amazing life experiences, from meditating with monks to experiencing altered states.

We’re all experiencing reality outside of a lens, it’s different and unique for all of us. -Matt Belair

Three Takeaways

  1. The pain we witness and experience is a catalyst for us to do something good.
  2. The first and easiest altered state to get to is reached through lucid dreaming.
  3. The ego doesn’t know the difference between intuition, source and your brain.

At the start of the show, Matt gave us a background of his experiences, travels and adventures. He also talked about lucid dreaming and direct experience, “if someone is trying to convince you of something that feels off, then they are just trying to prove to you through words, something that could be limiting.”

We went on to talk about the power of yogic breathing and how it helps us rise above reactionary experiences. Next, we talked about the definition of reality, and how we all experience it differently. Towards the end of the show we discussed ego and alien existence.

We also discussed:

  • The connection between breathing and enlightenment
  • Deprogramming from false ego
  • The truth about consciousness
  • The difference between direct experience and thought
  • Being of service while still caring about success

A true seeker of enlightenment should always seek ascension beyond the self and the ego. What we experience as reality is subjective and self-controlled. Every single bit of your reality is like a mirror being balanced and you are actually creating it. Remember whatever you’re challenged by is just a belief system, and all we are is energy. How we use it determines our enlightenment and illumination.
