One of the biggest crises in health right now is the low levels of sperm count and fertility in young men, and the question of what the clinical community can do about it. Why are we experiencing such a decline in the reproductive potential of men who should be in their prime? Does testosterone therapy need to be at super-therapeutic levels all the time? How can men on testosterone therapy still maintain their fertility? On this episode, I’m joined by the Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the University of Miami, Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy, who talks about how to improve the reproductive health of men.
Four Takeaways
The reasons we’re experiencing low sperm count in young men are obesity, environmental influences, stress, and social media.
Short-acting testosterone is better for fertility and reproductive potential because it mimics the body’s natural pulsativity.
The reason testosterone therapy affects fertility and blocks metagenesis is because if it’s used over a long term, it blocks FSH and LH.
The restorative protocol for people who took supra-physiological doses of testosterone for long periods of time is HCG and clomiphene to jumpstart testosterone and sperm production.
At the start of the show, Dr. Ramasamy shared how he got started, and what’s causing the crisis in male fertility right now. Next, we talked about why the biggest battle in the clinical optimization space is misinformation, and why it’s equally important to educate consumers as much doctors. We also talked about why faster-acting testosterone is better for improving fertility, and why the insurance-attached prescribing community is so afraid of testosterone.
We also discussed:
For the last few decades, testosterone therapy has opted for long-acting preparations, but the problem is that it has impacted the reproductive potential of many men. When it comes to fertility, maintaining testicular size, and reproductive potential, the pendulum has to swing back to a shorter acting form to mimic the body’s natural physiology. That way, we can help men boost fertility and improve their health.
The rise and prevalence of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative disorders is alarming, and the healthcare industry is doing nothing about it. Why is Big Pharma letting this crisis worsen? What nutritional solutions can we put in place to start solving this issue? On this episode I’m joined by Dr. John Lewis, the Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of Nurish.Me, to talk about the products his company develops and how they are helping people regain cognitive functioning.
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Dr. Lewis talked about the importance of taking care of your health, and why he chose a plant-based diet. We talked about why Big Pharma would prefer the state of health to remain the same. We also discussed polysaccharides and why they are so important. Towards the end, we discussed the connection between the lack of weight training and the health issues Baby Boomers experience. Dr. Lewis also talked about his Alzheimer’s study.
We also discussed:
The medical system is built to keep people sick for years so that they will constantly pay for medication, run out of money, and pass on bad behaviors to the younger generation. This is why Big Pharma has not stepped in with a meaningful solution to the neurodegenerative disorder problem: there’s no financial incentive for them to do so. There are other solutions however, in the form of enhanced nutrition with polysaccharides. These sugars have been extremely powerful in patients regaining their cognitive functioning and neuroplasticity. They have helped many people start getting their minds back, and we could save the masses by making itt a widespread treatment plan.

Exposure to healthy light is one of the most underestimated therapies in our mission to become optimized. Why is red light therapy one of the most effective ways to get this treatment, and what are the mechanisms that make it work so well? How can we make sure we’re using the right kind of devices for red light therapy? On this episode I’m joined by Scott Nelson, the founder of light therapy company called Joovv. He shares how their devices work, their benefits, and why light therapy is so beneficial.
Healthy wavelengths of light in the right dosages are incredibly beneficial for our health in so many areas. -Scott Nelson
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Scott shared on how Joovv got started, how modern living has decreased our exposure to healthy light, and the impact it has had on our overall health. Next, we talked about some of the benefits of red light therapy, including improving the skin and cognitive function. We talked about how to identify a good red light therapy device, red light therapy and its impact on our eyes, as well as how to determine the coverage of a device.
We also discussed:
The variety of health optimization benefits we gain by using light therapy are simple but incredibly underestimated. Red light therapy reduces joint pain and inflammation, and it improves muscle recovery and peak athletic performance. But not every device that promises these benefits actually delivers, and we have to be very careful about what we buy. You’re looking for coverage, therapeutic power ranges, and metrics substantiated and validated by third parties.

The greatest barrier to optimization isn’t just the structures of the healthcare industry, but also the attitudes and mindsets so many people have towards it. Why is it dangerous to be so dogmatic about how healthcare should work? What are some of the things we need to align in order to be healthier? What are some of the challenges doctors face as they switch from the traditional healthcare system to optimization? On this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Bonner who shares how he left the sick care system and why he isn’t looking back.
Four Takeaways
At the beginning of the show, Dr. Bonner shared how he got started, and what led him down the path of optimization personally and professionally. Next, we talked about why it’s so challenging to switch from traditional medical training to functional medicine. We also discussed about why Big Pharma can be blamed for all the issues in healthcare.
We also discussed;
For many physicians who have been trained on the sick-care model, the idea of leaving that system is something they would never dare to do. Not only does it expose them to judgement, and possible financial setbacks, it also goes against every single thing they are taught in medical school. Most of these people are just too set in their ways, too dogmatic and too afraid to change; but as the optimization becomes more necessary, these people will get left behind.

People are constantly encouraged to lift weights, but often the methods and equipment they use fail to change their physique and even cause injury. What is at the root of inefficient weight lifting that plagues so many workouts? How can you get your central nervous system to help you build muscle? What is the X3 Bar, and why it is the secret to growing muscle and reducing joint pain?
On this episode, I’m joined by author, entrepreneur and founder of the X3 Bar, Dr. John Jaquish, who shares how his invention is making a real impact in helping people grow stronger.
Being strong and lean are the two biggest determinants of long life. -Dr. John Jaquish
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, John shared what led to the creation of The X3 Bar, and why triggering adaptation in older people is so powerful. Next, we talked about the lessons John learned from gymnasts and why people are more powerful in the impact-ready range of motion. We discussed how to communicate with the central nervous system, and how the X3 Bar triggers androgen receptor sensitivity.
We also discussed:
Going to the gym shouldn’t just be about how much we lift, but about contracting our muscles so that they grow. If our weightlifting is overloading our joints and underloading our muscle, there’s so much potential we’re leaving on the table. How we lift weights needs to help our central nervous system increase growth hormone. To do that you need to train at the right intensity in impact-ready positions. The body is incredibly efficient if we know exactly how to train it.

Everybody in the health world talks about the importance of protein, but it still remains grossly misunderstood. What is amino acid utilization, and what does it mean for us? What are the best foods for amino acid utilization? What happens when you don't get enough essential amino acids as it relates to protein turnover, healing, anabolism effect with training?
On this episode, I’m joined by legendary physician, author and founder of LifeWorks Medical Center, BodyHealth, and PerfectAmino, Dr. David Minkoff, who shares the truth about protein we all should know about.
We need healthy food and supplements so we can change the trend of society and the planet to save us from extinction. -Dr. David Minkoff
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Dr. David shared how he got started in alternative healthcare, and how his wife’s experience with mercury toxicity led him down that path. Next, we talked about whether autoimmune disorders are being caused by toxic particulates, and why all that has a lot to do with gut health and the intestines. We talked about proteins, amino acid utilization, and the best sources of protein.
We also discussed;
The body’s ability to utilize the protein it digests isn’t just about eating any protein, it’s about eating the right kind of protein. Protein is made up of smaller units called amino acids, and in order to get the full benefit of utilization, you have to remember that not all amino acids are created equal. One gram of protein in one food isn’t the same as a gram in another, and you have to be extremely discerning about the protein you choose, because it determines how your body recovers, and how the amino acids reassemble. If you’re an athlete, a bodybuilder this is incredibly important. Remember, casein, collagen, egg whites, and BCAAs are not good enough proteins to perform the necessary functions and you can never go wrong with whole eggs.

One of the biggest issues in the nutrition conversation is that people are misinformed about what helps and what hurts their bodies. Why is it dangerous for us to be too restrictive in what we eat? How can we avoid thyroid deficiencies? Why is it so important to dial-in our sleep? On this episode, I’m honored to be joined by professional bodybuilder and Vertical Diet founder, Stan Efferding, who talks about the health issues many mainstream diets cause and how his diet rectifies them.
Optimization is the collaboration between sleep, hydration, nutrition, and training; but sleep is the mothership. -Stan Efferding
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Stan talked about how he got started and the biggest problem he sees with a lot of people when it comes to nutrition and weight loss: being misinformed and looking for shortcuts. Next, we talked about some of the health issues women face when they restrict their diets, and the problem with taking salt out of your diet. Stan also shared how his diet helps athletes eat based on their body’s needs.
We also discussed:
The hard truth about staying healthy is that the basics like sleep, hydration, and nutrition are necessary but boring. As a result, people jump onto the more exciting elements like performance enhancing drugs and trendy diet programs which end up doing more harm than good. To be optimized, you have to fuel the body to meet its energy demands and very often that means being flexible rather than restrictive. Don’t just focus on macronutrients, because micronutrients are also key. If you can be disciplined and consistent with the right kind of nutrition, you will truly be healthy— not just healthy-looking on the surface.

Hair thinning and loss can have a negative impact on a man’s confidence, and often the people dealing with it don’t know what to do. What are some of the biggest strides medicine and surgery have made in solving this issue? How can laser light therapy, PRP, also be used to help? What does the treatment process entail? On this episode, leading hair transplant surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman shares on solutions for androgenetic alopecia.
Laser light therapy is a non-chemical, non-invasive and side-effect-free way to get better hair growth. -Dr. Alan Bauman
Four Takeaways
At the start of the show, Dr. Alan shared how he got started, and why hair restoration doesn’t have to be painful. Next, we talked about how hair loss can impact your self-esteem and the use of low-level laser devices to regenerate growth. We also discussed whether all men on TRT will experience hair thinning or loss.
We also discussed:
Losing hair is a challenge that leaves many people feeling like their youth and vitality is slipping away, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Investing in a laser light is one way you can start to get your hair back. If you buy a good quality one, it will last decades. PRP is another worthy solution that can help regenerate hair growth, but time is of the essence. For any androgenetic alopecia, if you want to save the maximum amount of hair, get started soon if you want the best result over time.

People are struggling to access hormone therapy all over the world. What are the benefits of TOT that it’s critics don’t seem to see? What options are available for those who genuinely want to optimize their health? On this episode, Sam Cook and Michael Kocsis of Balance my Hormones are here to discuss the options available in the UK.
TRT should be the first line of defense for treatment of anything. -Jay Campbell
Three Takeaways
At the start of the episode, we discussed how TRT is viewed in Europe in general, and the UK in particular. We then spoke about the different options men have for optimization- namely, injections or topical cream. After discussing the merits of each, we agreed that there is a need for treatments to be prescribed according to each individual’s biochemical needs.
We also discussed;
The TOT revolution is only just beginning. There is still considerable pushback all over the world, and doctors continue to shy away from TOT because their training has not taught them enough about hormones. However, there is hope for the future. More and more people are able to access the correct information about optimization. Plus, private sector TOT in the UK is surprisingly affordable. The revolution is in its early stages, but will only gain momentum as it progresses.

We’re taught how to take care of ourselves when we’re sick, but not how to prevent it from happening in the first place. How does our society lead us to believe that we need to live unhealthy lifestyles? Which bad habits are we developing because they’re seen as ‘normal’? On this episode, I’m joined by the host of ‘The Lifting Dermatologist’ Youtube channel, Dr. Steven Devos, to discuss the lies we’ve been taught about a normal lifestyle.
Three Takeaways
In most countries, medical schools do not teach students about hormones, prevention, or nutrition at all.
People who are genuinely concerned about their health are repeatedly demonized and ‘fit shamed’ for not abiding by unhealthy norms.
Enjoyment has been prioritized in our societies, and we’ve been taught that genuine enjoyment comes from unhealthy foods.
We also discussed:
Almost everything the general public knows about so-called ‘healthcare’ comes from doctors. Those doctors are influenced by pharmaceutical companies, and it’s fair to say a large portion of them prescribe medication unnecessarily. Often, a lot of the things you’re treating with medication could also be solved by a lifestyle shift. Focus on keeping yourself healthy and block out the noise that suggests you should ‘enjoy’ yourself with unhealthy habits. Real enjoyment comes when you’re at your healthiest, most optimized self.

With so many studies proving the importance and efficacy of testosterone, it’s infuriating when doctors don’t seem to take note. Why are so many medical professionals refusing to use testosterone in patients? Are any of the supposed risks even valid? On this episode, I’m joined by board-certified urologist and epigenetics expert, Dr. Tracy Gapin.
Three Takeaways
A lot of the supposed risks of using testosterone therapy are entirely false. For example, while testosterone was thought to be linked to prostate cancer, studies have shown that men with too little testosterone actually have a higher risk.
Medical schools do not teach students about the benefits of testosterone. This is a major reason why so many doctors don’t use it— they simply don’t have enough knowledge.
Testosterone has a bad reputation in the medical field because it has been misused for financial gain.
At the start of the episode, Dr. Tracy Gapin explained why he believes the current healthcare model is broken. He explained why he’s looking into preventative and proactive medicine, rather than waiting to get sick before finding solutions. We then spoke about why the medical industry needs to start looking at healthcare more holistically, and we shared observations on the depiction of testosterone in the media and in literature.
We also discussed:
For many doctors, the choice not to use testosterone therapeutically comes from a lack of knowledge, rather than bad intentions. Medical schools do not provide adequate knowledge of hormones. The reality is, there are so many factors involved in proactive medicine- from examining lifestyle to tailoring hormones to the patient’s needs. We need to take a more holistic approach to maintaining our health.

Many men are under the impression that high levels of estrogen are a bad thing, and have started taking AI’s as a result. Where does this assumption come from? Is there any truth to it at all? On this episode, medical research pioneer, Russ Scala is back to talk about the problem with prevailing views of estrogen.
Three Takeaways
Blocking estrogen is one of the most dangerous things you can do to your body. By taking AI’s- even in tiny doses- you’ll damage your endothelial lining.
High estrogen levels do not exist. What is often misconstrued as high estrogen levels is actually high insulin, obesity and visceral fat.
A lot of what has come to be accepted about estrogen comes from the bodybuilding industry, not the medical industry. Make sure you’re concentrating on biological facts.
At the start of the episode, Russ and I discussed how paying attention to hormones could help doctors cure multiple ailments. We discussed that the reason doctors don’t pay attention to hormones is because basic biology doesn’t suit pharmaceutical companies’ business models. Both of us agreed that the sheer amount of disinformation online is further affecting the way we value estrogen.
We also discussed;
So much of what we’ve come to accept as normal comes from completely inaccurate theories. The popularity of online groups, frequented by body builders taking AI’s, means that those genuinely seeking advice are likely to be given false information. This is further complicated by the fact that a lot of doctors, backed up by pharmaceutical companies, are sharing disinformation for their financial gain. At the end of the day, what we need to do is be educated so that we can take care of ourselves- because no one else will.

For men today, we encounter so much in our day-to-day trying to get our attention, leading us away from our innate, raw, masculine essence. Why is it so important to reconnect with our physicality? Why are practices like meditation and changing your languaging so beneficial in optimization? On this episode, I’m joined by founder of the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood, Nick Gregoriades. We have a deep conversation about what we can do to overcome our “lizard brain” thinking and all the things that hold us back.
Takeaways
Martial arts allows men to channel their masculine energy and tap into their physicality in a way that the modern existence doesn’t allow for.
Testosterone, optimized hormones, and meditation are the edge of getting back that innate masculine presence.
If you’re not centered physically, that is reflected in the spirit.
Most people’s minds are so busy, distracted and splintered, they need to meditate and silence their minds for at least 40 minutes.
Nick and I discussed how martial arts can help you overcome your ego, and the importance of being physically centered. Next, we talked about meditation and why most people need to practice it for at least 40 minutes a day. We also discussed plant medicine and the insights Nick got from taking it, and how language and words can limit your reality. We also talked about dark nights of the soul, hitting rock bottom and why that is so necessary in spiritual development.
We also discussed:
With so many things competing for our attention, clogging our brains and blocking our spiritual growth and development, it’s so important for us to ground ourselves physically. The body and the spirit are connected, and any time we neglect the body, we also compromise our souls. What also gets in the way are practices that are constructed by ego and greed. The way to win the game is to overcome those instincts and do the inner work. If we’re committed to taking the action and staying the course, we can achieve incredible things.

Sleep deprivation leads to so many biological system defects, and nothing impacts it as badly as our excessive exposure to artificial blue light. What are the biggest sources of this blue light, and how does it differ from natural blue light? What does it do to our health, and what can we do about it? How does alcohol consumption also affect our health and ability to sleep properly? On this episode, I’m joined by Swanwick Sleep founder, James Swanwick, who shares on his work helping people improve their sleep, how he got into making fashionable blue light blockers, and why he became alcohol-free.
Four Takeaways
At the start of the show, James shared on his background, and we talked about why sleep is so important. We covered why it’s essential for replenishing and restoring the body, the difference between natural and artificial blue light, and how the latter negatively impacts our bodies. James shared the story of how he started his blue blocker company and all the other health-related work he does.
We also discussed:
Nature intends us to get 6-8 hours of good quality sleep every night, but the man-made stuff we use daily is compromising our sleep and our health. Sleep is essential for so many biological functions and systems, and if we don’t prioritize it, we’re doing a lot of harm. Artificial blue light tricks our bodies into thinking that it’s daytime all the time, meaning we won’t produce the melatonin we need. Don’t underestimate what this does to your whole body and the long-term negative effects. Ultimately, you want to put your best foot forward and that’s impossible without good sleep.

One of the most amazing developments in medicine is stem cell therapy and our ability to use life itself to regenerate our bodies. What are some of the conditions that can be treated with stem cell therapy? Is stem cell treatment safe and legal?
On this episode, I’m joined by regenerative medicine expert and Chara Biologics founder, Dr. Joy Kong. We discuss her work with stem cell therapy and how it can help people stay healthy and regenerate their bodies.
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Dr. Joy Kong shares how she got to where she is now, and how she aims to integrate different types of medicine. Next she shared more information on stem cell therapy including how legal it is, if the FDA regulations are justified, and the use of stem cell therapy for cardiovascular issues.
We also discussed:
Stem cell therapy is the future of health and regenerative medicine, but right now the medical industry is just not open-minded enough to adopt it yet. As a result, this movement is largely patient-driven, as doctors are more reluctant than their own patients. Medicine often lags behind the science, and this leaves people unable to access treatments that could make a huge difference in their lives.

So many people are jumping on the low calorie bandwagon, without knowing that they are sabotaging their metabolism and general health. What factor causes a huge amount of diet failure? What is metabolic flexibility, and why is it what we should be implementing into our health and nutrition? Why is jumping into an aggressive diet and exercise program one of the worst things you can do?
On this episode, Bob Brown is back to share on why we shouldn’t become focused on only one method for weight loss and fitness, and why we need to be flexible in our calorie intake.
Four Takeaways
At the start of the show, Ben shared on why he transitioned out of the supplement space and his issues with the supplement industry. We talked about the importance of establishing your values and non-negotiables in your life, and working on being the most functional version of yourself. We also talked about why it’s difficult to find a diet and nutritional method that’s going to work consistently.
We also talked about;
The problem with a lot of the diet and nutrition programs we use is that they lack flexibility and balance meaning that the metabolism swings too far, and that’s when people start to experience difficulties in energy, hunger, libido, cognitive function, sleep, and digestion. Instead of focusing on jumping into an aggressive exercise program, it’s better to focus on your nutritional and lifestyle behaviour and the things that help manage their hormonal output because that’s what will create a caloric deficit in a healthier way. We have to maintain balance within a flexible environment so we don’t go too far down one path because that doesn’t do anything for our bodies.

The best way to sum up our existence right now is that the environment is conspiring against us. What are the telltale signs that we’re in deep trouble? Why is optimization really the only way we can fight back? How does testosterone completely change you for the better?
On this episode, my friend and mentee, Daniel Kelly is back to talk about his book Optimized Under 35, his own journey to optimization and why the work we’re doing is so necessary.
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Daniel shared why his book is such a passion project and his life pre-testosterone and post-testosterone. Next, we talked about how your spirituality shifts with optimization, and how bad lifestyle choices lead to a testosterone deficiency. We also discussed the importance of reducing stress.
We also discussed;
We are dealing with a widespread, undocumented and wholly acknowledged disaster among young males. This isn’t a conspiracy theory; this is admitted, substantiated, and documented science. It’s past time for us to be debating whether optimization is good or not, because frankly, it’s the only weapon we have to claw back our health and fertility. Testosterone is the lifeblood molecule that is essential to overall health, and the sooner we give it to more people in need of it, the higher our chance of saving humanity.

One of the things we underestimate is the interconnectedness of our global habits, behaviors and phases in culture with hormones like testosterone and dopamine. How can we map The Age of Enlightenment, The Great Depression, and even the progressive virus we see today alongside the solar patterns and hormone levels? Is there a solution to this?
On this episode, I’m joined by researcher, author and independent scholar, Roy Barzilai who shares on a very overlooked field of study that is vital to understanding our society and the challenges we’re facing.
If we neglect or abandon the science of hormones and solar cycles and how it shapes our history, character and personality, we will remain impotent to doing anything about it. -Roy Barzilai
Four Takeaways
At the start of the show, Roy shared on his background and how taking a reductionist approach has destroyed the scientific establishment. Next, we talked about the cycles of history and why hormones play such a huge role in that. We also discussed how bad the next economic crash will be, and the link between increased addiction and low numbers of mood hormones.
We also discussed;
We have a lack of hormonal balance in our society which is causing massive and far reaching issues in how we relate to each other, and how the world functions as a whole. In the past, increased solar activity increased enlightenment because of rising testosterone, serotonin and dopamine. Now the opposite is happening. With declining rates in mood hormones there isn’t much to motivate and make us happy. This doesn’t mean it out of our control though, we have to pay attention to these patterns to know how to change them.

From not optimizing ourselves, to drinking alcohol and not being devotional, there are so many things blocking our consciousness as a society. How does drinking block our own self-awareness and personal development? What is causing so many people to be disenchanted, depressed and anxious?
On this episode, I’m joined by my good friend, author of the Better Than The Binge, and founder of Renew Health RX, Adam Lamb, who talks about his journey of quitting alcohol, growing as a person and getting optimized.
If you drink to intoxication often, you have a drinking problem. -Adam Lamb
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Adam shared on his story and his journey, the recent surgery he went through and what caused it. We talked about why so many people in America aren’t devotional, and the importance of having faith and believing in something. We also discussed how social drinking is one of the biggest issues we have in modern society. Towards the end, we talked about hormone optimization, the importance of client follow up and how pharma and insurance have meddled and messed things up.
We also discussed;
A lot of people in this world have so much anxiety, disenchantment, despair and self-destruction because they have misunderstanding of life and how it works. The good things in our lives; the success, the happiness and the health takes hard work, it doesn’t happen instantly. And when we rely on things like alcohol, unhealthy habits and being in denial about our need to delve into the devotional, we just delay our own progress and success. When we fix these things, that’s when we truly become free, and get the best results in our lives.

One of the biggest issues we have in healthcare is the lack of knowledge around the biomarkers as people age. How can we solve this by taking a more integrative approach? Will we ever get to the mass consciousness that testosterone is good? What is wrong with the over-protocolization of healthcare?
On this episode, I’m joined by Director and founder of Precision Medical Care, Dr. Catherine Johnson to talk about how to help people get back to balanced health and the practical steps it will take us to get there.
If you over-protocalize and you don’t take a precision approach, you will lose validity to care and you will see errors. -Dr. Catherine Johnson
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Dr. Catherine shared how she got started and why she made the change from emergency medicine to precision medicine. She talked about how chronic disease manifests when people aren’t taking care of themselves. We talked about how the Baby Boomers have been so influenced by popular media, and how that impacts their health negatively. We then talked about the importance of teaching young people about their biomarkers. Dr. Catherine also talked about her her Precision Testosterone Optimized Therapy.
We also discussed;
To help our society heal and get better, we have to take a very integrated approach and it starts with teaching young people about the biomarkers for good health. That includes tracking things like skeletal muscle mass, blood pressure, testosterone and other hormones, lipid profile, vitamins and other vital details. We must define what the biomarkers are for an optimal health span at every age so that we end up with longitudinal data points. That way we can find the stressor, and remove the contributing factors before it’s too late.
Many patients and even physicians are so hung up on getting to what they consider the perfect testosterone number that they miss the whole point: wellness. What is driving doctors’ obsession with the number, and why does it have a lot to do with insurance? Why are AIs harmful to optimized patients? Why is patient feedback so crucial?
On this episode, I’m joined by the co-founders of Summit Rejuvenation Centers, Scott Otey & John Fogerty, to talk about how they are blazing the trail in optimization.
You can’t make your patients feel good when you’re billing them through insurance because you can’t even get them to an optimized level. -John Fogerty
Three Takeaways
At the start of the show, Scott and John shared their backstory and how they got started. Next we talked about the problem with testosterone pellet therapy, and why it’s impossible to titrate the dosage effectively with the delivery system. We discussed why traditional therapies just aren’t making sense anymore, the harm that comes with suppressing estrogen, and how this shows up in the health issues a lot of bodybuilders face.
We also discussed:
So many men are trained on an understanding that there’s a number that corresponds to a level of happiness and acceptance, and this is driven by most non-optimization doctors. Doctors who are in the mainstream can’t really help their patients because insurance puts so much red tape on them. Therefore they feel like they are better off not treating people because they don’t want to end up losing the money they get from patients. Ultimately this drives men to be focused on their numbers and not their symptoms. This dooms them to stay in this tailspin until they work with an optimization physician who knows what they’re doing.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) are systemic in our society, and many military and law enforcement service personnel are suffering because of it. To make things worse, the mainstream medical system just doesn’t treat these people correctly. What misconceptions are getting the way of these men and women getting the treatment they deserve? What changes need to happen in mainstream culture to better respond to these issues? On this episode, I’m honored to be joined by my good friends Dr. Mark Gordon and Andrew Marr from the Warrior Angel’s Foundation to answer these questions and more.
TBI stems from the trauma, the inflammatory mechanism, and the down regulation of the brain hormones. If we can mitigate or modulate that, we have a real viable solution. -Andrew Marr
Three Takeaways
The biggest problem we have is TBI being erroneously diagnosed as a psychological issue and not a brain chemistry one.
The mainstream market isn’t driven by a desire to improve their quality of health but to make money off PTSD patients.
We look at testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone as reproductive, gender or sex hormones, but each of them has a whole other spectrum of benefits in the body.
At the start of the show, we talked about how erroneously labelling TBI as PTSD has been a setback for TBI treatment. We also discussed whether sick care would ever change this and what it would take to make that happen. Andrew shared on the upcoming documentary he’s working on and Dr. Gordon shared on the upcoming event they are running.
We also discussed:
If TBI is treated as a psychological problem by pumping SSRI medication into patients, it just won’t solve anything. What causes TBI is the effect of trauma which disrupts the chemistry in the brain by creating inflammation, and this inflammation stops important chemicals in the brain from doing their jobs. The true solution to the issue is hormonal and chemical. Sick care is just throwing a band aid on everything with drugs instead of looking at the core ideology of the issue. Until that’s corrected, the masses can’t be healed.

When the human body experiences different types of trauma it results in various types of scars, and these can actually impede health and performance. One of the most common modalities to healing these traumas is the application of microcurrents, but not all these modalities are created equal. What is the Dolphin Neurostim and what are its benefits? Why is it so much better than the electronic healing pads sold all over the place? How does it aid in healing and pain management? On this episode, I’m joined by master pain practitioner and pain management specialist, Kelly Armstrong, to talk about this awesome device and all its capabilities.
Not only can the Dolphin relieve pain, it can also empower the nervous system to work better. -Kelly Armstrong
Takeaways
Micropoint stimulation (MPS) is an integrative mixture of a lot of different therapies that look at the body from a different perspective. You have to treat the whole body and treat all of the traumas for the body to actually heal.
The Dolphin Neurostim has a tip applicator or a point which functions like a non-invasive needle, and gives you the same outcomes when used to treat acupuncture points.
Electronic healing pads actually lower muscle oxygenation and recovery.
When you treat the body with the microcurrent, it is actually changing and improving the health of the tissue. This will decrease pain and increase movement.
At the start of the show, Kelly talked about the importance of healing and treating the body as a whole, and why past traumas need to be looked at as much as new ones. Next, Kelly shared on how the Dolphin Neurostim works, and the multiple benefits the device has. We also talked about scars and how they impede health, vitality and performance; as well as how the microcurrent helps prevent accidents and injuries in athletes. Kelly also shared on battlefield acupuncture and how it works.
We also discussed:
Not all electronic modalities benefit the nervous system or heal the body’s traumas. The Dolphin Neurostim is special because it performs multiple functions that are vital to the body’s healing. Its direct current mimics our own body’s energy, and the microcurrent works at a cellular level which helps cells create more protein synthesis and reestablish a more normal cellular membrane. As we age, we accumulate scars and traumas, and stress can prevent our healing. If we use the right tool, we can heal and improve our vitality to strengthen us and make our bodies more resilient.

As we age and our bodies change, the ways we eat and train have to change, too. How do you encourage advanced hypertrophy, and how often should you be switching up your exercises and movements? Why do food intolerances become more of an issue as we age, and how can we combat this? On this episode, I’m joined by Infinity Fitness founder Scott Mendelsohn to talk about the factors that impede progress in muscle growth for older athletes and how to avoid them.
You have to shift from doing a lot of volume to higher intensity and less volume. -Scott Mendelsohn
Three Takeaways
People who are advanced in their training require fresh stimuli because their muscle memory is so much higher.
You should be switching up your movements and even overhauling your exercises every 6 weeks, but also changing things like timing of reps, tempo, rest periods more regularly.
Eating clean is not enough to maximize muscle growth and quality of life. You also need to rotate foods, and macro-nutrient cycles
At the start of the show, we talked about advanced hypertrophy and training protocols for aging lifters. Next, we talked about the importance of switching things up in your workouts, how to actually do it and how often. We talked about what causes people not to focus on a workout program and whether this is a genetic trait. Scott also shared on the necessity of switching up your macro-nutrient cycles.
We also discussed:
If you’ve been training for decades, it’s critical that you constantly supply your body with fresh training stimuli through new exercises and routines within your day-to-day workouts. It isn’t just about changing things up in the gym though. It’s also important to think about what’s on your plate. A lot of health issues stem from food intolerances and allergies brought on by eating the same things over and over again. Even if you’re eating clean, you still may not get the results you want. Learn to change the amounts of carbs, dietary fats, and proteins on certain days, and invest in eating plans that rotate foods. Whether it’s training or diet, the methods you employ should give you a return on your investment, and give you the confidence that you are doing your very best to take care of your body.

Women’s health has been neglected and filled with myths and ignorance since the beginning of endocrinology. Why is progesterone one of the most underestimated and misunderstood hormones, and what are its uses? How has birth control destroyed the health of both men and women? How can we help chemically castrated women get access to lifesaving healthcare? On this episode, I talk with health practitioner, consultant, author, and educator, Victoria Felkar about what’s getting in the way of the help women need and what can be done about it.
The more you screw with hormones earlier in life, the more you’re setting yourself up for difficulty later on— but the salvation is in lifestyle. -Victoria Felkar
Three Takeaways
Progesterone is a wonder drug for perimenopausal women but it’s heavily maligned for no reason.
An athlete’s body in performance mode is under immense stress, and harm reduction needs to be prioritized so they can recover. Hormones are a huge part of that.
Many people, even doctors, conflate progesterone (which has so many benefits) with progestin (which has done a lot of harm) and this is what is making so many women suffer.
Women’s periods are getting heavier, and a lot more of them are suffering from pain and conditions like endometriosis. Medication and birth control don’t solve the problems, and that’s why we need to get to root causes.
At the start of the show, we talked about why women’s endocrinology is handled so badly, and the double standards that causes this. Next we talked about the connection between hormones and sport, and how the stigma was born. We discussed how hormones are used at the elite levels of sport and how birth control is destroying us. We also talked about the alarming warning signs about menstrual cycles that we shouldn't ignore.
We also discussed:
So many women are suffering because hormones like progesterone have been so maligned. At the same time, birth control pills have been misused and abused. The truth is, the more you screw with hormones earlier on in life through birth control, fertility drugs, and other substances, the more intense the issues will be later on in life. Lifestyle is actually a very important part of women’s reproductive health, not the manipulation of menstrual cycles we are seeing today.
If you have lower rates of stress, you’re going to improve your reproductive health. The woman’s body has its own built in clock, and it’s like a symphony that requires all the instruments. If we start manipulating or removing some parts, there’s no telling how bad the impact will be, and we’re definitely starting to see the negative downstream effects now.
